I use "Desktop" from iTunes app store. Will I be able to connect to the Windows Media Center to watch recorded TV without convert the videos and upload them? I haven't tried this but it is easy to connect to another computer using IP address. Airplay is neat with new Apple TV. I have no hands on with any other tablet. No Adobe Flash and no printing from current OS. Third party solutions are compilcated. I find it very handy for reading eBooks.

As far as I know, their isn't a full version of Microsoft Access available for the Mac that will allow you to use all the features and functionality of the Windows version. Have I overlooked something? Please share Filemaker has worked well where I have seen it used in the past.
I believe that Apple bought them and they are actually part of the Apple Mac family now! Filemaker is likely what is sought. Has many variants of the product, hence figure which is appropriate to start and where the project may grow—. Wow, thank you everyone for your responses.

I'll look into all the options. I really appreciate it! Yup, Filemaker Pro - pretty inexpensive. I've used both and I think Filemaker would, in general, be more user-friendly but I've used Access for so many years and haven't used Filemaker for nearly as long!
This is the most well-known DB software for Mac. Strange that Access never came out for MAC IMHO, Access is a bloated, inelegant monster of a program.
It seems to have "grown like Topsy", especially during early years, and has become so HUGE and awkward that I imagine adapting it to another operating system would be a nightmare. Don't get me wrong - I use it; I need it; I can't run my organization without it.
And I hate it. So, don't look to Microsoft for a solution. Their Office for Mac was great - I use it as well, but Access may present to big a challenge to be worth it to them. I'd really appreciate an update because I have almost exactly the same situation, we're going Mac but can't ditch the legacy database. Claris Apple's software division bought FileMaker back in , they spun it off as a subsidiary in so they could gain traction in the Windows market. If you want a basic database try EagleData or for more features LibreOffice , both are free.
Steward is a decent personal database on Mac: stewarddatabase. On the other hand, I find it pretty good to just manage some personal stuff.
